Better Breather’s Club-A Support Group for those with Chronic Lung Disease

Learn how to live better with COPD, asthma and other lung diseases.

Sponsored by the American Lung Association, Better Breathers Club meetings provide education and support to those with chronic lung disease such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis. Meetings are FREE and open to anyone interested in learning more about chronic lung disease or breathing disorders. Caregivers and family members are also welcome. 

Bring your questions about COPD, asthma and other lung disorders to be discussed and answered by Jim Braley, RRT.

Jim Braley, RRT is a respiratory therapist with more than 40 years experience in various clinical settings. He is currently the Novato Community Hospital manager of respiratory care services and has been a certified American Lung Association Better Breather Group facilitator for six years.

May 5    Mentor Me Mad Hatter Ball
Our 2018 Mad Hatter Ball celebrates Cinco de Mayo this year as LA FIESTA DE LOS SOMBREROS LOCOS! This annual fundraiser supports our youth mentoring and advocacy programs, while providing a fun evening of dining, dancing and entertainment, along with the chance to win fabulous prizes in our hat contest, raffles and auction. Mentor Me has over 400 thriving mentorships in 23 schools in Sonoma and Marin counties, thanks to the generosity of people like you. Your loyal support over the years has allowed us continue on our mission to help children rise to their highest potential. We look forward to getting together to celebrate their successes with YOU, our community of supporters, mentors, friends and family who make it all possible. $125 tickets include a catered dinner featuring dishes such as chicken pozole, chicken tamales, vegetarian rajas con queso tamales, tacos carne asada, chicken mole, ensaladas and rice and beans. Locally crafted beer, wine and soft drinks are also included. Grupo Gitanoa provides the lively music for dancing! Shrug off tension carried over from the day by taking a walk with women! Gather with members at a local Petaluma park to walk and talk, comforted by nature as we step in rhythm with the late afternoon sun, honoring self, each other and earth.

Our walks are all about gathering as a community, welcoming new members, and most importantly, getting outside and walking to stretch and move our energy. Each walk is hosted by, Joy Regan, WomenWalking founder,. Joy will facilitate introductions, include a short mindfulness exercise and then we get walking!

Secret Agents from distant Galaxies fighting for galactic freedom? A clan of werewolves trying to live normal lives in Petaluma? Crime, Adventure and daring do? Shenanigans, tomfoolery and hijinks? Swashbuckling high-seas epics? We don’t know what our original Radio Play will be about yet, because you’re going to come and make it. Come join us and turn your brilliant and wonderful idea into a fully formed Radio Play. Over the course of the day our group will create an original Radio Play from scratch. As experi-enced and capable guides to the majestic realms of creativity and imagination, we will, as a glo-rious and united team of Imaginauts, produce a gem of Radio entertainment. The Radio Play will air on the May 13th (Don’t forget Mother’s Day, everyone!) episode of Benedettiville’s Small Town Adventures on KPCA, 103.3fm.
