Nov 2    First Thursday Labor Law Series with Jay Putnam
ISSUES CONFRONTING EMPLOYERS WITH THE
CATASTROPHIC FIRES IN SONOMA COUNTY

ISSUES CONFRONTING EMPLOYERS WITH THE
CATASTROPHIC FIRES IN SONOMA COUNTY

With the catastrophic fires, we wanted to change the seminar topic to assist business owners with a situation you are now facing. Mr. Putnam will also answer any other questions you may have.

Please RSVP to pacc@petalumachamber.com or call (707) 762-2785 so we have an accurate count for lunch.

Topics covered:

  • Wage Hour issues presented by “Acts of God”
  • Employer’s duty to accommodate non work-related injuries
  • Attendance issues
  • Excessive absenteeism
  • Leaves of Absence – Paid and unpaid

This ongoing seminar series is being conducted by veteran Petaluma labor & employment attorney, Jay Putnam. Putnam, has advised employers exclusively, in labor matters for over 36 years. He hopes to provide local business owners and managers with a solid, working understanding of California labor law, as a means of helping them avoid the often crippling cost and disruption caused by lawsuits resulting from a misunderstanding of applicable legal requirements.

Members are encouraged to bring their questions.  Putnam says he intends to conduct the seminars as informal, working sessions, where people can bring their questions and leave each month with important information that will immediately improve their business operations.

Nov 25    Santa's Riverboat Arrival
Santa and Mrs. Claus give the holiday season a uniquely Petaluma kick-off on Saturday, November 25 when their tugboat chugs into the Historic Downtown Riverfront harbor at about noon. Santa has come to Petaluma on the river ever since a thick fog grounded the flying reindeer and forced the Claus couple to board a tugboat and sail into town. Their new mode of transportation worked so well that Santa and Mrs. Claus made arriving by boat a Petaluma tradition.
