Better Breather’s Club-A Support Group for those with Chronic Lung Disease

Learn how to live better with COPD, asthma and other lung diseases.

Sponsored by the American Lung Association, Better Breathers Club meetings provide education and support to those with chronic lung disease such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis. Meetings are FREE and open to anyone interested in learning more about chronic lung disease or breathing disorders. Caregivers and family members are also welcome. 

Bring your questions about COPD, asthma and other lung disorders to be discussed and answered by Jim Braley, RRT.

Jim Braley, RRT is a respiratory therapist with more than 40 years experience in various clinical settings. He is currently the Novato Community Hospital manager of respiratory care services and has been a certified American Lung Association Better Breather Group facilitator for six years.

Apr 22    Third Annual History Trails Walk
As part of Petaluma’s History Week celebration, please join the Petalumans of Yesteryear in the third annual History Trails walk through our historic downtown! This is your chance to meet some of Petaluma’s most colorful, influential and fascinating characters, including Clara McNear, Issac Wickersham, Addie Atwater, William Howard Pepper, Lyman Byce (inventor of a practical incubator) and other important Petalumans, and may include surprise appearances! Along the way, historic points of interest will be pointed out, and each character will delight with their humorous, sad, and sometimes, downright bawdy stories, which took place right here in our historic town! The walk is moderate in length (1 – 1.5 hours), the pace leisurely. Remember walking shoes, hats, water and sunscreen to be comfortable. Light refreshments served outdoors at conclusion of walk in the Museum Garden Court. Walk limited to 20 people per group! Cost: $20 general and $15 for museum members. Brimming with authentic small town pride, Petaluma’s Butter & Egg Days Parade pays tribute to Petaluma’s place in history as the “World’s Egg Basket” and the community’s rich agricultural heritage. Originally created in the 1900’s to promote Petaluma as part of National Egg Day, the parade has grown to more than 130 units attracting 30,000 people into downtown. This year’s parade theme, “A Parade is Hatched,” celebrates the 100th anniversary of National Egg Day held in 1918. Parade kicks off at Noon, Festival includes beer gardens, kids area, live music & performances, shopping & eateries.

Crossing the Jordan has developed a long-term residential program that provides career building, transformational training, and healing that produces extraordinary results. The program helps individuals in Sonoma County and teaches skills that enable them to live happy healthy lives, while supporting their families.
