There's no better time than now to stay active while having fun. PDI Surgery Center's Pain Busters want you and your family to join us on a fun run, walk, bike or skate for healthy kids 5K. You can take part in PDI’s Get Up & Get Moving for Healthy Kids 5K, on your own time from ?July 27th – August 9th. Get up and get outside in your neighborhood or head to your local park or favorite trail. It doesn't matter where, as long as it's outside. PDI hopes that we can come together as a virtual community and enjoy fun, fitness, and the common goal of uniting people in our community and encouraging overall health. Better Breather’s Club-A Support Group for those with Chronic Lung Disease

Learn how to live better with COPD, asthma and other lung diseases.

Sponsored by the American Lung Association, Better Breathers Club meetings provide education and support to those with chronic lung disease such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis. Meetings are FREE and open to anyone interested in learning more about chronic lung disease or breathing disorders. Caregivers and family members are also welcome. 

Bring your questions about COPD, asthma and other lung disorders to be discussed and answered by Jim Braley, RRT.

Jim Braley, RRT is a respiratory therapist with more than 40 years experience in various clinical settings. He is currently the Novato Community Hospital manager of respiratory care services and has been a certified American Lung Association Better Breather Group facilitator for six years.

Course Description: This specialized eight-hour AHA HeartSaver Course is for the child care professional and helps those who are responsible for children's health manage illnesses and injuries until first responders arrive, including asthma. Meets Community Care Licensing requirements for daycare homes and centers.

Course Audience: Child care professionals, after-school care providers, elementary school teachers, nannies and parents.

Jul 11    Medic First Aid CPR and AED Training

Course Description: This course goes a step beyond basic CPR. In this four-hour class, students will learn information and skills to provide effective emergency care to an injured or ill person before first responders arrive. The workplace is the focus, using industrial and office settings for the scenario-based learning environment. CPR, plus other lifesaving skills including bleeding control, choke saving, hazardous conditions awareness, and an introduction to the AED. Each students receives a manual, instruction, mannequin use and Medic First Aid card valid for two years.

Course Audience:   The class-of-choice for non-medical people, this class is the perfect course for any individual who would like to be prepared to respond to a cardiac emergency, anytime and anywhere. Great for on-site training for employees who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency due to job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

Everything that you love about Petaluma can be found at the Art & Garden Festival in historic downtown Petaluma. Enjoy Sonoma County brews and wine, savor culinary delights from local restaurants, dance to live music and browse more than 140 booths offering creative home and garden décor, jewelry, art, and sustainability ideas. And best of all, there is no admission charge to enjoy the block party vibe. While strolling Kentucky Street at the festival, look for ticket booths to pick up a map, purchase sampling tickets and get your souvenir Art & Garden wine or beer glass. Then plan your afternoon of noshing and shopping! The Art & Garden Festival is truly home-grown, formed in 2002 as a result of the efforts of a few downtown merchants with the help and support of the Petaluma Downtown Association.  It became a way to raise funds for the downtown and an opportunity to showcase the work of local artists and sample local food, wines and craft beers.

Rivertown Revival and Friends of the Petaluma River present... Living Room Live! Petaluma's annual Rivertown Revival has brought joy and laughter to the North Bay for the past 10 years, but this homegrown festival has always been about much more than a single sunny day in July. The spirit of Rivertown is an ongoing effort from within the community to celebrate life, support the arts, and raise awareness and funds for environmental protection and education. With COVID 19 making public assembly impossible, the Rivertown crew has decided that if we cannot come down to the River to play, then they will bring festival experience straight to us! "Living Room Live" is an entertaining and inspiring live-streamed shows, accessible on Rivertown's Facebook and YouTube pages. There will be engaging pieces created for children and families, as well as intimate musical performances by our favorite regional singers and bands. The show is hosted by Rivertown's music director and resident showman, Josh Windmiller.
