Barefoot Chamber Concerts continues its mission to help you start the weekend right. The series ("an enterprise noted for both its quality and informality" - San Francisco Classical Voice) presents really good music in the right acoustic and without the formality of most classical music events. Our concerts start at 6 on Fridays and last no more than 75 minutes. Kids are very welcome if quiet, and admission under 18 is free. Light refreshments are available before, during, and after the concert. There will be ample time to move on to other evening entertainments.
Musica Pacifica, (Judith Linsenberg, recorders; Elizabeth Blumenstock, violin; Charles Sherman, harpsichord; with guest artists Stephen Schultz, flute; Lisa Weiss and Anthony Martin, violins; David Wilson, viola; Lynn Tetenbaum, violone) the West Coast's leading baroque specialist chamber group, will play their newest program, Bach Family Concertos.
J. S. Bach came from a large family of musicians, and many of his children were musicians. The concerto form was perhaps the most lively of all the instrumental forms borrowed from its Italian inventors, and the Bach family's output is both huge and varied. Musica Pacifica's program will astonish and delight with its variety of instrumentation and style.
In the perfect wooden acoustic of the Petaluma Woman's Club, this will be an unforgettable experience.
The program will be approximately 75 minutes with no intermission.
