When the Festival Consort says they play old music -- we're not talking about the 1950's. We're talking about the 1400's and 1500's -- the medieval and renaissance periods. Not only does the Festival Consort bring works from this ancient time back to life, they perform on authentic replicas of instruments used in those days -- recorders, shawms, crumhorns, schreyerpfeiffen, sackbut, renaissance guitar, and curtal. Joining the instrumentalists are acclaimed soprano Carol Menke and former Chanticleer countertenor Chris Fritzsche. In addition to instrumental pieces, favorite European Christmas carols and haunting medieval songs make up the festive program.
