Learn the inside scoop about how to get media coverage and how to leverage it for years in your website's media room. Being in the media speaks volumes for credibility and opens many doors. Learn how to prepare for your moment to shine in the media from publicist LynAnn King. Position yourself as a credible source for journalists (and getting on their "nice list") and news consumers, by having everything they need to highlight your company and reap in the attention.
This session will focus on how to land media coverage with a killer "Pitch" that will put you on an editor's preferred expert list. The participants will learn how to think like a journalist, target local and national media, know how to land publicity and media attention.
Participants will learn how to:
- Gain new skills in dealing with the media, including examples in how to think like a journalist, identify key decision makers and target local media
- The kind of publicity that works
- Identify "pitching" skills when dealing with the media, translating into media exposure
- Analyze and brainstorm what's newsworthy and what's not
- How to be prepared for phone/email pitching
- What makes a great headline
- How to leverage current news events with a side story angle that lands coverage
- Compile what goes into an electronic eMedia promotional kit
