Health, Wellness & Services
Healthy Petaluma, your health and well-being advocate, is working to make southern Sonoma County a place where everyone has equitable access to health and wellness services. As a community-owned and -operated public agency, we've been dedicated to fostering a healthier community for more than 75 years. Our boundaries were created in 1946 and include Petaluma, Penngrove, Cotati, and parts of Rohnert Park. The mission of Healthy Petaluma is to improve the health and well-being of all members of the community. Our vision is a healthier community with local access to comprehensive health and wellness services for all of our residents. We believe our strength comes from partnerships and collaborative community efforts. We recognize the ability to meet the health care needs of our community and fulfill our mission, and vision is a shared responsibility. Launched in 2013, HeartSafe Community (HSC) is a Healthy Petaluma program that makes our communities “rescue ready” in the event of a cardiac emergency. Through CPR/AED training with HealthQuest CPR, an American Heart Association authorized training center, strategic AED installation including outdoor public access SaveStation cabinets, AED registration, maintenance, AED sales, AED supplies, and by joining local police and fire departments, emergency medical transport providers, hospitals, schools, and nonprofits strengthen our communities’ responses to cardiac emergencies and reducing deaths from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Working together we save lives.
